Twitter 'to unveil founder Jack Dorsey as new chief executive'

There is going to be a new manager/CEO of twitter as twitter have been falling bahind alot in there soical media. Other better social media like facebook and instagram has had more followers that have signed up to them. Twitter wanat a new fresh faced person who will be able to make twitter better than what it is now. This means by making sure that they get more followers and more tweets coming in often. Having this will help twitter become more better than  facebook or instagram. This new CEO i scalled jack dorsey who was already part of the company. He will be replacing Dick costolo who was a comedian and entrepeneur.

  • Twitter has more than 300m users, far behind the 1.5bn people hooked on Facebooks online social network.
  • Twitter's future have hit its shares, which have fallen nearly 50pc since late April. The shares rallied after Re/Code's report, gaining $1.35, or more than 5pc.
  • Jack hepled start the company in 2006 he was the CEO until 2008
  • Mr Dorsey, 38, remained Twitter's chairman and one of its largest shareholders with a 3pc stake currently worth about $600m.
I think that having a new person is a good idea as it can help have new ideas that will be better for the company. Jack Dorsey was already part of th CEO which showed that he already knows what hes doing. This means that he will know alot about it and that he can add what he needs to as he will know what makes the company good and bad.

Music streaming just became a billion-dollar industry
  • Streaming revenue as a whole surpassed $1bn in the first half of the year for the first time.
Download sales revenue fell 4pc to $1.3bn, while physical disc sales dropped 17pc to $748m.
  • The rise of digital streaming has helped the industry maintain annual revenues of around $7bn since 2010, offsetting the decline in revenue from digital downloads of single tracks that began in 2013.
  • But the level is far below the industry peak in 1999 of $14.6bn, when compact discs were dominant.
i think that its better to have music streamed as it gives the audeince more choice and they dont have to pay much if they do pay. Some apps let the music play free on their phone or tablet for a while. Otherwise peopel jsut go on youtube because that easier aswell. Its not good for the album company as when they make copies for their album not many pople buy it as they can get it on their phones and via the internet.
